The best chocolate chip cranberry cookies

First, you will need fresh cranberries, sugar, cinnamon, and a splash of vanilla. Place in a microwave-safe bowl, microwave for 5 minutes and set aside (be careful, these cranberries pop like popcorn. That’s why I did not place them on the stove.
Next, you will need store-bought chocolate chip cookie dough, I used the Pillsbury version. You need the thick log, not the mini cookies.
Preheat your oven to 350
Prepare your cookie sheet, and line it with foil or parchment paper
Cut your chocolate chip cookies into thick slices about 1 inch each

Place them on the cookie sheet. Now, take a spoon and make a big indent in the middle of the cookie, but not too much. You should not see the foil or parchment paper in the center of the cookie.
Now take your cranberry mixture and drain as much juice as possible and place them in the middle of the cookie using a small spoon. Complete this process until all cookies have been filled.

Bake in the oven for 13-15 minutes (the cookie will need to cook a little longer because of the cranberries in the center).
Remove the cookies from the oven. It should look like this.

It may look undone in the center, but it’s done (it just may have a little more juice than anticipated). Just make sure you let the cookie cool completely before moving them.
This is totally optional but adds a nice touch. If you like you can add some cinnamon and chocolate drizzle once the cookie has cooled.
