How to turn vanilla frosting into chocolate frosting

Have you ever wanted to make a dessert with ingredients you already have at home? Only to find upon your search that you needed chocolate frosting, but you only found vanilla frosting after looking behind vegetable cans, cereal boxes, or sandwich bread in the pantry. Well, guess what? Today is your lucky day. I will show you how to turn vanilla frosting into chocolate frosting in under 5 minutes or so.

This newly invented chocolate frosting will be light and fluffy, and you will have enough to frost a cake or cupcakes. Don’t worry; no one will ever know you used a store-bought canned frosting. The frosting will actually taste homemade.

You only need a few ingredients. The vanilla frosting, bittersweet chocolate and a little evaporated milk.

In a large bowl, spoon out the vanilla frosting into the bowl and mix for 5 seconds. If you need to frost 24 cupcakes, you will need two canned frostings. Next, melt your bittersweet chocolate in a double boiler or a microwave for about 20 seconds at a time and stir in between until all the chocolate has been melted.

You want the chocolate to be at room temperature before you add it to the vanilla frosting. This is an essential step because you do not want the chocolate to melt the vanilla frosting when mixed together. Mix for about 5- 10 seconds. The last step is to add the evaporated milk; this helps to blend all the flavors together.

Immediately frost the cake and/ or cupcakes. Or, if you want a stiffer frosting, simply put it in the refrigerator for an hour or so.

I used this delicious frosting to frost these delightful, lovely cupcakes. I added cordial cherries in the center, but any cupcake will do. I’ll suggest your favorite! After trying this recipe, I’m sure you will use this recipe again. Stay tuned for more recipes.
